Geeky Me: Strange and Invisible apps

Talking about my profession. Many think that I am working in a call centre or as a software engineer in an IT firm. No, that’s not what I am doing. I am a Presales Manager plus Solution Architect in a Web and Mobile app development company. It’s a pretty cool job if you are into geeky stuffs. Hence I am fascinated by software or mobile apps and how it works technically and functionally. I regularly visit Playstore if there any cool stuffs out there. It also helps me professionally for updates.
That’s how I came across Duolingo, as I said before it’s a nice app if you are interested in learning languages. Currently, I am learning French in it, though I have done a bachelor degree long time back, my French fluency is very much derisoire, it means pathetic in French. The good thing about this app is that it’s playful and bit of funny. And they give you visual displays to help you learn quicker. I kinda like the female voice which pronounces the French words, she is weird and funny.
Terrarium is another app that I came across. Something similar like Netflix to watch movies, TV series, documentaries etc. But unlike Netflix or Hotstar, this comes to you totally for free. You can watch “n” number of videos without limit, it has huge collection of everything, almost every single English films and TV series in the world are in it. There are films and series that you can’t even find in other apps are in Terrarium, almost everything. And did I tell you that you can also play the videos along with the subtitle. And for those who are stringent on file sizes can choose the size of your like. You can even watch an entire film in 65kb and save your net balance similar like Youtube, can you believe that? Awesome, isn’t it?
Instaview is another app that I came across. I don’t know how they do it, because as a software geek, I know without integrating API (consider it like a plugin) of Instagram, it is impossible to get data from it and neither Instagram gonna allow it due to breach of privacy. But this app does it. It helps you find out who is viewing your profile secretly, followers who are not following you, how many visits your profile is getting everyday and many more interesting data. Similar to Instaview, there is Spychat for WhatsApp users who doesn’t want to show online but still can check and respond to messages, as it uses a proxy mobile UI (User Interface) for you to use. And then WhoViewer is another app for Facebook users, similar like Instaview, you can find out who visited your profile recently, who left your Facebook friend’s list, who never ‘like’ or ‘comments’ your posts etc. There is another app for WhatsApp users where you can track if your boyfriend/girlfriend is chatting with any other person, you can also read their chats without their permission. But I am not going to give you the name of the app, since I am afraid it might be misused. I know all these apps are kind of breach of privacy, but as a Technical Solution Architect, I just want you to know, there is nothing called “Private or Privacy” once you are on internet. No matter, if they are giants like Google, Facebook, Apple or Microsoft, your data, visits or any other information can still be breached and they don’t need your permission or the app you are using it. All it needs is a geek who knows Python or Ruby on rails to give few lines of code and web scrap your profile. Well, that’s not so cool, I agree.
Just to give you some good stuffs Lybrate is a healthcare app. It gives you health tips for all the issues. You can also find physician in your nearby area based on your GPS location and fix appointment online. Apart from that it gives you free prescription for treatments, you can get free coupons, surprise offers for medical check ups, discounts etc. The best part is you can test your knowledge on a particular health topic by Playing Quiz. It’s kinda like a social media app, so you can share health tips, post videos, comment and like etc.
For gay people, who are tired and bored of plain hook ups, fake pictures and sexual chats. There is a social media app similar like Facebook for you all. It’s called BluedLite, they have pretty good amount of users already even in your location. You can create your own groups under any topic within or join a group based on topics you like, chats, forums, events, posts similar like Facebook and give likes and comments etc. Since they are using OpenCV which is a 3rd party framework for chat and streaming, Probably they are one of the fastest video streaming embedded in the app. So your videos can be streamed with no size restriction of the files and people can access it faster.
I know that now you might be scared of me or something and might even unfriend me from Facebook or Instagram or WhatsApp. I am just letting you know about these apps but I don’t like to stalk much ðŸ™‚ Just kidding. Later on, I will write about few more cool and not so cool mobile apps. There are plenty of AI (Artificial Intelligence) apps, AR (Augmented Reality) apps, Digital Analytics apps, Real time apps, Navigation apps etc in the Playstore. I am using a Smart Home app where I can control electrical and electronics in my home like a remote control. Technology had taken the world to a different place and it created ‘individuals’ rather than ‘communities’. It gave us many friends who are not connected with us in real world but broke relationships which are vital to our lives. So use the technology, but don’t live in it. Remember, humanity is the best thing.
